4 Claude Plugins Every AI User Needs

One reads any file for a fraction of the usage. One tells you what real people said about anything this month. One lets Claude read YouTube, X and Reddit. One gives you the exact prompts behind Claude-made animations. All free. One copy-paste prompt installs all four.

The one prompt that installs all 4

Open Claude Code (or the Code tab in the Claude desktop app) and paste this. It checks you have what you need, installs all four in the right order, checks each one actually worked, and hands you one thing to type to test each.

It explains every step in plain English before it runs it, and it asks before it connects any of your accounts. About 10 minutes. When it is done, restart Claude Code once so everything loads.

Only use claude.ai in the browser? Skip to the manual path below. Two of the four work there.

Copy-paste prompt
You are setting up four free tools for Claude Code on my machine: MarkItDown, last30days, Agent Reach and Prompt Motion. Install all four, verify each one, then report back.

Do them in this order. Confirm each one actually worked before you move to the next. Explain what you are about to run in plain English before you run it, because I am not technical.

Before anything else, check what I have:
- Run python3 --version. last30days needs Python 3.12 or newer. MarkItDown and Agent Reach need 3.10 or newer.
- Run node --version. Some last30days sources use Node.
If Python is missing or older than 3.12, stop and tell me exactly how to install a newer one on my computer, one step at a time. Do not continue until it passes. If Node is missing, tell me, but keep going.

1) MarkItDown
Turns any file (PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, images, HTML, CSV) into clean text you can read fast, so my files use way less of my usage.
Repo: https://github.com/microsoft/markitdown (built by Microsoft)

- Install the full version: pip install 'markitdown[all]'
Keep the quotes. Without them the command breaks on a Mac.
- If pip refuses because my Python is "externally managed", use pipx or uv instead. Tell me which one you picked and why.
- Run markitdown --version and confirm the command works. If it installed but is not on my PATH, fix it or tell me exactly what to add.
- Install the MCP server so you can use it as a tool in every chat: pip install markitdown-mcp (same rule about pipx or uv)
- Register it at user scope: claude mcp add -s user markitdown -- markitdown-mcp
The -s user part matters. Without it, MarkItDown only works inside this one folder.
- Test it: convert any small PDF or Word doc on my computer and show me the first few lines of the result.

2) last30days
Researches any topic across Reddit, X, YouTube, Hacker News, Polymarket and the web from the last 30 days, then tells me what real people are actually saying.
Repo: https://github.com/mvanhorn/last30days-skill (built by Matt Van Horn)

Install it as a Claude Code plugin so it stays updated:

  claude plugin marketplace add mvanhorn/last30days-skill
  claude plugin install last30days

If the install command says it cannot find the plugin, run claude plugin marketplace list, find the marketplace name, and install with last30days@<that name>.

If the plugin commands are not available at all, use this instead:

  npx skills add mvanhorn/last30days-skill -g -a claude-code

Do not install it both ways. Pick one.

Reddit, Hacker News, Polymarket and GitHub work with zero setup. The first time it runs, it offers a setup wizard for X, YouTube, TikTok and more. Do not connect any accounts or paste any API keys for me. List what the wizard offers and let me choose later.

3) Agent Reach
Lets you read and search the parts of the internet you normally cannot: YouTube transcripts, Twitter/X, Reddit, GitHub, RSS and any webpage, plus free web search. One install, zero API fees.
Repo: https://github.com/Panniantong/Agent-Reach (built by Panniantong)

Read the official install guide and follow it exactly:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Panniantong/agent-reach/main/docs/install.md

Rules while you do it:
- Install the agent-reach CLI from the GitHub repo the guide points to. There is an unrelated package with the same name on PyPI. Do not pip install agent-reach from PyPI.
- By default, agent-reach install only checks my system and changes nothing. You have my permission to run it with --system so it actually installs the free dependencies and registers its skill. Show me the dry run first (agent-reach install --env=auto --dry-run), then run the real one.
- Only turn on the zero-setup channels for now (web pages, YouTube, RSS, GitHub public repos, web search). When it asks about Twitter, Reddit, LinkedIn or anything that needs a login, list them for me and let me choose later. Do not set up any logins without asking me first.
- When it is done, run agent-reach doctor and show me which channels are working.

4) Prompt Motion
A library of motion videos made with Claude. Every video page shows the exact prompt or the Claude Code skill behind it, with the install command.
Site: https://prompt-motion.com (built by @p4nthera_). It is a website, not a GitHub repo. Do not use promptmotion.org, that is a different site.

There is nothing to install for the site itself. Instead, create a small personal skill so I can use it any time:
- Make the folder ~/.claude/skills/prompt-motion/ and write a SKILL.md file in it.
- Frontmatter: name: prompt-motion. Description: "Use when I paste a prompt-motion.com link or say I want to make an animation like one from Prompt Motion."
- Instructions inside the skill:
  a) Open the prompt-motion.com page I gave you and read it.
  b) Tell me in one sentence what the video is, which model and stack it used (for example Remotion), and whether it comes with a prompt or a skill.
  c) If it has a skill, show me the install command from the page and the repo link, and ask me before you install it. Only install from the repo the page links to.
  d) If it has a prompt, show me the prompt and ask what I want to change (my brand, my product, my text) before you run it.
  e) If the video uses Remotion and this project does not have it yet, tell me and offer to set it up first.
- When the skill is saved, read it back to me so I can see it worked.

Once all four are in, verify:
- Run claude mcp list and confirm markitdown is connected.
- Confirm last30days is installed exactly once (no duplicates).
- Run agent-reach doctor and show me the result.
- Confirm ~/.claude/skills/prompt-motion/SKILL.md exists.
- Tell me if I need to restart Claude Code for anything to load.

Then report back in plain English:
- What installed cleanly.
- What did not, with the exact error and the exact fix.
- One thing to type to test each one. Use these:
MarkItDown: "Convert this file to markdown and summarize it: [drag in any PDF]"
last30days: "/last30days what people are saying about Claude Duet"
Agent Reach: "Get the transcript of this YouTube video and give me the 5 main points: [paste any YouTube link]"
Prompt Motion: "I want to make an animation like this one: [paste any prompt-motion.com link]"

Do not tell me something worked unless you actually checked. If an install failed, say so plainly and give me the fix.

Which one do I use?

Four plugins, four jobs. If you remember nothing else, remember this.

  • "I have a file." Use MarkItDown
  • "I have a topic." Use last30days
  • "I have a link." Use Agent Reach
  • "I want a video." Use Prompt Motion

What each one does, and when to use it

MarkItDown

1/ For when you have a file

Built by Microsoft. 190,000+ GitHub stars. View the repo

When you drag a PDF into Claude, it has to look at every page like a picture. That eats a ton of your usage. MarkItDown turns any file into Markdown first, which is plain text, the format AI reads best. Same information, a fraction of the cost. It works on PDFs, Word docs, PowerPoints, Excel sheets, images, web pages and CSVs.

You fit way more into one chat, Claude answers faster, and you stop hitting "this chat is too long." The prompt also connects it to Claude as a tool, so in any chat you can just say "convert this."

Use it when:

  • You are about to upload a long PDF (contracts, reports, research papers)
  • You want Claude to compare a bunch of files at once
  • You keep running into your usage limits
Say this
Convert this PDF to markdown, then summarize the 5 most important points: [drag in a PDF]
Convert every file in this folder to markdown and save them in a new folder called converted.
Turn this pitch deck into markdown and tell me what is missing from it.

last30days

2/ For when you have a topic

Built by Matt Van Horn. 65,000+ GitHub stars. View the repo

Ask Claude about something new and it basically Googles it. Google shows you what editors wrote. last30days searches Reddit, X, YouTube, Hacker News, Polymarket and the web, only from the last 30 days, ranks it by what real people actually upvoted and liked, then writes you one clean brief.

This is the difference between "here is the press release" and "here is what thousands of real users think about it this month." Reddit, Hacker News, Polymarket and GitHub work the second it installs. No keys needed.

Use it when:

  • You are prepping for a meeting and want the latest on a person or company
  • You are about to launch something and want to know what people think of the space
  • You are making content and want to know what is actually trending
  • A new AI tool drops and you want the honest reviews
Say this
/last30days Claude Duet
/last30days what small business owners are saying about AI receptionists
/last30days [the name of the person you are meeting tomorrow]

Agent Reach

3/ For when you have a link

Built by Panniantong. 100,000+ GitHub stars. View the repo

Claude cannot get into most of the internet on its own. Agent Reach gives it eyes on YouTube transcripts, Twitter/X, Reddit, GitHub, RSS feeds and any webpage, plus free web search. Most of those sites block AI or charge for API access. This handles all of it in one install, with zero API fees.

Every platform has a "best way in," and those keep changing. When one gets blocked, Agent Reach swaps to the next one that works. One command, agent-reach doctor, shows you what is connected.

Use it when:

  • You want the key points from a YouTube video without watching it
  • You want Claude to read a Reddit thread or an X post you found
  • You want Claude to dig through a GitHub repo before you install something
Say this
Get the transcript of this YouTube video and give me the 5 main points: [link]
Read the top comments on this Reddit thread and tell me what people agree on: [link]
Read this GitHub repo and tell me in plain English what it does and if it is safe to install: [link]

Prompt Motion

4/ For when you want a video

Built by @p4nthera_. A free library of animations made with Claude. Visit prompt-motion.com

Getting Claude to make good animations is mostly about knowing what to ask for. Prompt Motion is a gallery of motion videos made with Claude: product launch films, explainers, UI animations, showreels. Every video shows you the exact prompt or the Claude Code skill behind it, with the install command right there.

You skip the guessing. Find a video you like and start from what already worked. The setup prompt gives Claude a small skill for this, so you just paste a Prompt Motion link and Claude reads the page, explains it and asks before it installs anything.

Use it when:

  • You need a product launch video or a demo for your landing page
  • You want animated graphics for your content
  • You want an explainer video without hiring a motion designer
Say this
I want to make an animation like this one: [paste any prompt-motion.com link]

The manual path

The prompt above only works where Claude can run commands on your computer. If you would rather do it yourself, or you only use Claude in the browser, here is each path.

Claude Code (or the Code tab in the desktop app)

The prompt above does all four. This is the manual version if you would rather run the commands yourself.

  1. pip install 'markitdown[all]' markitdown-mcp
  2. claude mcp add -s user markitdown -- markitdown-mcp
  3. claude plugin marketplace add mvanhorn/last30days-skill
  4. claude plugin install last30days
  5. Agent Reach: paste "Help me install Agent Reach: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Panniantong/agent-reach/main/docs/install.md"
  6. Prompt Motion: open any video on prompt-motion.com and run the install command it shows

claude.ai in the browser (or the Chat tab in the desktop app)

No terminal here, so only two of the four work. MarkItDown and Agent Reach need to run commands on your computer, so they only work in Claude Code.

  1. last30days: download last30days.skill from the repo releases page, then Customize, Skills, Upload a skill. Turn on "Code execution and file creation" first.
  2. Prompt Motion: open any video that comes with a prompt (not a skill), copy the prompt and paste it into Claude.

The 5 things that quietly break this

Most of these do not throw an error. They just make a plugin sit there doing nothing while you assume it is working. The prompt handles all five, but if you install by hand, this is the list.

  • These need Claude Code, not regular Claude chat
Installing anything means running commands on your computer, and only Claude Code can do that. Use the Code tab in the Claude desktop app, or Claude Code in your terminal. Regular claude.ai chat will just explain the steps to you instead of doing them.
  • last30days needs Python 3.12 or newer
Most Macs have an older Python. It does not throw a clear error, things just fail halfway. The prompt checks your version first and walks you through upgrading if you need to.
  • Agent Reach does nothing by default, and there is a fake one
agent-reach install only checks your computer and changes nothing unless you add --system. It looks finished. It is not. Also, a different package with the same name lives on PyPI. The real one installs from the GitHub repo. The prompt handles both.
  • MarkItDown needs quotes and the -s user flag
On a Mac, pip install markitdown[all] fails without the quotes around it. And if you add the MarkItDown tool without -s user, it only works in the one folder you were in. Both look like they worked. Neither does. The prompt includes both.
  • The real Prompt Motion is prompt-motion.com
There is a different site at promptmotion.org. Use prompt-motion.com, the one with the dash. And only install skills from the repo the video page links to.

I did not build any of these

All four are other people's work, given away free. The only thing here that is mine is the install prompt, the cheat sheet and the list of things that break.

MarkItDown is by Microsoft, released under MIT. last30days is by Matt Van Horn, released under MIT. Agent Reach is by Panniantong, released under MIT. Prompt Motion is by @p4nthera_, and every video on it is credited to the creator who made it.

If any of these save you real time, go star the repo or follow the creator. That is the whole payment these people asked for.
