What these plugins actually are
If you use Claude and haven't installed any plugins yet, you're leaving most of its abilities on the table.
A plugin is a pack of skills that turns Claude into a focused specialist for one kind of work. Anthropic built five of them, one for each job a real business runs on: productivity, small business, marketing, sales, and legal. Each one comes pre-loaded with ready-made workflows, so instead of explaining what you want from scratch every time, you just say the thing and the right skill fires.
You trigger them in plain English. There are no codes to memorize. Each plugin lists what it can do, and when you ask for something it covers ("plan my cash for the next 60 days," "research this prospect"), the matching skill runs.
Two honest notes before you install, so nothing surprises you:
Where they run
These run in Claude Code and Claude Cowork (the desktop app), not the plain claude.ai chat box. Cowork is the no-terminal way in if you're not technical.
Connectors are optional
Every plugin works on its own with web search and whatever you paste or upload. Connecting your real tools (Gmail, QuickBooks, your CRM) just makes them sharper. Start with zero connected.
The One-Time Setup
Add the marketplace once, then install what you want
All five live in one place. You add the marketplace a single time, then install whichever plugins you want. Run these inside Claude Code or Cowork.
Add the marketplace (run this once)
Points Claude at Anthropic's official plugin repo.
/plugin marketplace add anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins
Install the ones you want
Grab all 5, or just the one built for your job. Each is a single line.
/plugin install productivity@knowledge-work-plugins /plugin install small-business@knowledge-work-plugins /plugin install marketing@knowledge-work-plugins /plugin install sales@knowledge-work-plugins /plugin install legal@knowledge-work-plugins
That's it. Restart your session if a plugin doesn't show up right away, then ask Claude what it can now do. The rest of this guide is the best way to use each one.
Plugin 1
Your chief of staffProductivity
Gives Claude a memory and a task list that survive between chats. It learns your people, your projects, and your shorthand, so "ask Todd to do the PSR for Oracle" just works without it asking who Todd is. It can scan your email, calendar, and chat for to-dos you forgot, and it opens a local dashboard showing your task board plus everything it knows about your work.
What it ships with
start Sets up your tasks and memory, pulls in your existing to-do list, and opens the dashboard.
update Syncs tasks, triages stale and overdue items, and fills in memory gaps. Add "comprehensive" to deep-scan email, calendar, and chat.
task-management Tracks everything in one shared markdown task list it reads and writes against.
memory-management Two-tier memory that decodes nicknames, acronyms, and project codenames.
Best use case
The morning sync
Connect Slack, Gmail, and your project tracker. Every morning, say "run a comprehensive update." Claude scans overnight messages, your calendar, and chat, then reports back: "Budget proposal review is due tomorrow and still open" and "New person mentioned in 3 threads: Jamie Park, Design Lead. Add to memory?" It updates stale tasks and fills knowledge gaps on its own. The magic compounds. Once it knows your people and projects, you stop re-explaining who everyone is every single chat.
Try this
Get me set up. Bootstrap my tasks and memory, then open the dashboard. After that, do a comprehensive update: scan my email, calendar, and Slack for anything I've missed and flag everything overdue.
Connects with: Slack, Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, Asana, Linear, Jira, monday.com, ClickUp
Plugin 2
Your operations manager + bookkeeperSmall Business
The widest plugin of the five. Twenty-nine ready-made workflows for an owner-operator with no finance, legal, or marketing staff. It connects QuickBooks, your payment processor, your CRM, and more, then runs real recipes across money, customers, marketing, and hiring. The rule baked into every skill: you approve anything that touches money or a customer before it happens.
What it ships with
plan-payroll Answers the only question that matters some months: will I make payroll?
cash-flow-snapshot 30/60/90-day cash forecast with confidence bands, exported to a spreadsheet.
close-month Reconciles QuickBooks against your processors and writes a plain-English P&L narrative.
invoice-chase Drafts overdue-invoice reminders, tone-matched to each customer’s payment history.
monday-brief Hands you a one-page brief of what matters this week before you open your laptop.
contract-review Flags red flags in an NDA or MSA in plain English and redlines a clean version.
Best use case
"Will I make payroll on the 30th?"
Connect QuickBooks and PayPal, then just ask. Claude pulls what you're owed, what you owe, and your fixed costs, then builds a 60-day cash forecast with confidence bands. It ranks every overdue invoice and drafts tone-matched payment reminders (gentle for your good customers, firm for the repeat-late ones), all queued for one tap of your approval. Real inputs from your live books. Real output you can act on in two minutes: a downloadable forecast and reminder emails ready to send.
Try this
Will I make payroll on the 30th? Forecast my cash for the next 60 days, then rank everyone who owes me money and draft a payment reminder for each one. Don't send anything until I approve it.
Connects with: QuickBooks, PayPal, Stripe, Square, HubSpot, Canva, DocuSign, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Slack
Plugin 3
Your one-person marketing teamMarketing
A full marketing team that stays on brand. It drafts channel-native content, plans whole campaigns with week-by-week calendars, checks every draft against your brand voice, runs competitor and SEO research, and builds performance reports. Connect your tools and it pulls real campaign data instead of guessing.
What it ships with
campaign-plan A full campaign brief: objectives, audience, messaging, channel mix, content calendar, and KPIs.
draft-content Blog posts, social, email, landing pages, and press releases, formatted for the channel with headline options.
brand-review Checks any draft against your voice and style guide, flags issues by severity with before/after fixes.
email-sequence Multi-email flows (onboarding, nurture, win-back, launch) with timing and A/B suggestions.
competitive-brief Competitor positioning, content gaps, threats, and battlecards.
seo-audit Keyword research and on-page checks split into quick wins versus longer plays.
Best use case
A full product launch, planned in one pass
Tell it the goal in one sentence: "Plan a campaign to drive 500 signups for our new product, technical decision-makers at enterprise companies, 6-week timeline." It returns a structured brief with audience segments, key messages, a channel mix, and a week-by-week content calendar with dependencies. Then you chain straight into the next skills: have it draft the launch blog post, build the nurture email flow, and run the whole thing through brand-review before a single word ships. A week of agency work in an afternoon.
Try this
Plan a campaign to drive 500 signups for our new product launch. Audience: technical decision-makers at enterprise SaaS. Timeline: 6 weeks. Give me the full brief and content calendar, then draft the launch blog post and a 4-email nurture sequence, and check it all against our brand voice.
Connects with: Slack, Gmail, Canva, Figma, HubSpot, Klaviyo, Amplitude, Ahrefs, Similarweb, Supermetrics, Notion
Plugin 4
Your sales co-pilotSales
A rep's daily co-pilot. It researches every prospect, preps you for the call, writes your follow-ups, builds battlecards for whoever you're up against, and reviews your pipeline. It works completely standalone with just web search and your pasted notes, and gets dramatically better when you connect your CRM, transcripts, and email.
What it ships with
account-research Company and contact intel: overview, key people, recent news, hiring signals.
call-prep Account context, attendee research, a suggested agenda, and discovery questions.
call-summary Turns messy notes or a transcript into action items plus a ready-to-send follow-up email.
draft-outreach Researches the prospect first, then writes personalized email and LinkedIn messages.
competitive-intelligence Builds an interactive battlecard with competitor cards, a comparison matrix, and talk tracks.
pipeline-review Health-scores your deals, flags the stale and single-threaded ones, and plans your week.
Best use case
Walk into every call already knowing more
The night before a meeting, say "Research Acme Corp before my call tomorrow." You get a company overview, key contacts, recent news, hiring signals, and a recommended approach, then an agenda and discovery questions built for the person you're meeting. After the call, paste your messy notes and get a clean recap, action items with owners, and a follow-up email ready to send, with an offer to log it all to your CRM. Works with zero integrations. Far richer with one connected.
Try this
Research Acme Corp before my call tomorrow, then prep me an agenda and discovery questions for their VP of Engineering. After the call I'll paste my notes and you'll write the follow-up email and pull out the action items.
Connects with: HubSpot, Close, Apollo, Outreach, Clay, ZoomInfo, Fireflies, Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Notion
Plugin 5
Your junior lawyerLegal
A co-pilot that reviews contracts against your own playbook. You write your standard positions, acceptable ranges, and escalation triggers into one file, and Claude reviews contracts clause by clause, triages NDAs green/yellow/red, runs compliance checks, and preps you for negotiations. It assists, it does not give legal advice, and anything important still gets a licensed attorney's eyes.
What it ships with
review-contract Clause-by-clause review against your playbook, with redlines, fallback positions, and business impact.
triage-nda Fast GREEN / YELLOW / RED call, screening for buried non-competes and missing carveouts.
compliance-check Surfaces the regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and approvals a new feature or initiative triggers.
legal-risk-assessment Severity-by-likelihood risk framework with clear escalation criteria.
vendor-check Every agreement you have with a vendor in one view, with gaps and upcoming expirations.
meeting-briefing Briefings for negotiations, board, and compliance meetings, with action-item tracking.
Best use case
Contract review against your own standards
First you write your positions into a playbook file once (for example: "Limitation of liability: mutual cap at 12 months of fees. Escalation trigger: any uncapped liability"). Then a vendor MSA lands in your inbox and you run the review: "We're the customer, need to close this quarter, focus on data protection and liability." Claude returns a clause-by-clause analysis flagged GREEN / YELLOW / RED, specific redline language for every flagged item measured against your standards, and a business-impact summary you can hand straight to the deal team. A multi-hour read becomes minutes.
Try this
Review this vendor MSA against our playbook. We're the customer and need to close by end of quarter, so focus on data protection and limitation of liability. Flag every deviation GREEN / YELLOW / RED, give me redline language for each one, and summarize the business impact.
Connects with: Box, Egnyte, DocuSign, Atlassian, Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack
