106 Free Claude Skills to Run Your Social Media

Social Media Skills turns Claude into a full social media team: it learns your voice, plans your calendar, writes for every platform and breaks down why posts go viral. All 106 are free. Here's the one prompt that installs them, the 3 worth trying first, and exactly which ones to use for the way you post.

The one prompt that installs all 106

In the video I said to paste the link into Claude and say "install skill." That works. This is the careful version. Open Claude Code (or the Code tab in the Claude desktop app) and paste it.

It checks you have what you need, makes sure it won't overwrite any skills you already built, installs all 106, counts them to prove they landed, sets up your brand folder, and hands you the first 3 things to type.

Only use claude.ai in the browser? Skip to "Every other way in" below.

Copy-paste prompt
I want to install the free Social Media Skills pack (106 Claude skills, MIT license, by Frank Heijdenrijk and the WoopSocial team): https://github.com/social-media-skills/skills

Do this for me step by step. Explain each step in plain English before you run it. I am not technical.

STEP 1: CHECK WHAT I ALREADY HAVE
- Check that Node.js is installed (run: node -v). If it is missing, stop and tell me exactly how to install it for my computer, then wait.
- List every skill folder already in ~/.claude/skills/ and save that list. Some of the 106 skills have common names (hook-writer, caption-writer, content-calendar, brand-profile). If I already have a skill with the same name as one of theirs, do NOT overwrite it. Show me the clashes and ask me what to do. Default: keep mine, skip theirs.

STEP 2: INSTALL
- If there are no clashes, run this exact command. It installs all 106 globally for Claude Code with no prompts:
  npx skills add social-media-skills/skills -g -a claude-code -s '*' -y
- If there ARE clashes, do not use the command above. Instead, clone the repo to a temp folder and copy every skill folder into ~/.claude/skills/ EXCEPT the ones I chose to skip:
  git clone https://github.com/social-media-skills/skills.git /tmp/social-media-skills

STEP 3: VERIFY IT ACTUALLY LANDED
- Count the new skill folders in ~/.claude/skills/ and compare against 106 (minus anything I skipped).
- Confirm these 6 exist and each has a SKILL.md inside: brand-profile, voice-builder, content-pillars, viral-reverse-engineering, cross-platform-repurposing, hook-writer.
- If anything is missing, tell me which ones and fix it. Do not tell me it worked until you have checked.

STEP 4: SET UP MY BRAND FOLDER
- These skills save files (brand-profile.md, voice.md) in whatever folder I am working in. So make one folder per brand: ~/social/[my brand name]. Ask me my brand name first.
- Tell me to restart Claude Code and open it inside that folder (cd ~/social/[name] then run claude). New skills only load on a fresh start.

STEP 5: GIVE ME MY FIRST 3 THINGS TO TYPE
After the restart, I should type these in order. Print them for me exactly:
1. "Use the brand-profile skill to set up my brand profile. Interview me."
2. "Use the voice-builder skill to build my voice guide. Here are 5 to 10 of my best posts:" (then I paste them)
3. "Use the content-pillars skill to build my 3 to 5 content pillars, then use content-calendar to plan my next 2 weeks."

Rules:
- Never post, schedule or delete anything on any social account.
- Do not sign me up for anything. The scheduling skill uses WoopSocial, which is a paid tool. Skip it for now.
- If a command fails, show me the error in one sentence and try the fix. Do not move on until each step works.

Try these first

Each one comes with the exact thing to type. Run brand-profile once before any of them (the install prompt walks you through it), because every skill reads that file first.

1/ Makes it sound like you: voice-builder

Feed it your real posts and it studies how you actually write: sentence length, the words you use, the words you never use, how you open, how you close. It saves all of it to one file, voice.md. Every other skill in the pack reads that file before it writes a word.

This is why the other 105 skills don't sound like AI. Give it 5 to 10 of your best posts (the ones that sound most like you, not the ones that did the best numbers). If you have no posts yet, it won't invent a voice. It sends you to the brand-profile interview instead.

Type this

2/ One video, every platform: cross-platform-repurposing

Hand it one video transcript, post or newsletter and it pulls out the core idea, then rebuilds it for each platform. Different hook, different length, different format, different call to action. A TikTok version, a LinkedIn post, an X thread, a Threads post.

The key word is rebuilds. Copy-pasting the same caption everywhere is how you get ignored on every platform at once. This skill's whole rule is that every version has to feel like it was made for that app.

Type this

3/ The best one in the pack: viral-reverse-engineering

Give it any post that blew up, yours or someone else's. It breaks it down layer by layer, finds the one thing that actually made it work, then checks if that thing can even be repeated. Some posts go viral from luck or timing, and it will tell you when that's the case instead of pretending.

Then it takes the part that CAN be repeated and applies it to your niche. Not a copy of the post. The mechanism behind it. That's the difference between stealing a video and learning from one.

Type this

You don't need all 106

Installing all of them is fine. Using all of them is a waste of your time. Find the line that sounds like you, use those 7 or 8, and ignore the rest until you need them.

You post Reels and TikToks

brand-profilevoice-builderviral-reverse-engineeringhook-writerreels-scripttiktok-scriptinstagram-seocross-platform-repurposing

Your first ask
Use viral-reverse-engineering on the 3 best videos in my niche this month (transcripts below). Then use hook-writer to give me 10 hooks for my next video built on what you found.

You grow on LinkedIn

Your first ask
Use linkedin-growth to tell me what I should post this week, then use linkedin-post-writer to write 3 posts in my voice. One of them should use contrarian-and-opinion.

You run a local business

Your first ask
Use batch-content-plan to plan a full month of posts for my business in one go. Use my real customer reviews (pasted below) for the social-proof posts.

You run social for clients

Your first ask
I'm in this client's folder. Use content-audit on their last 30 posts (pasted below), then use analytics-and-reporting to write a one-page monthly report I can send them.

Say these 4 things, in this order

The order matters. Every writing skill reads your brand profile and voice guide first, so build those before you ask for a single post.

  1. "Set up my brand profile." Claude interviews you (or reads your website and old posts) and writes brand-profile.md. Every other skill reads this file first.
  2. "Build my voice guide." (then paste 5 to 10 posts) voice-builder turns your real writing into voice.md, so nothing comes out sounding like AI.
  3. "Build my content pillars and a two-week content calendar." You get the 3 to 5 topics you post about, plus an actual plan mapped to the platforms you use.
  4. "Write this week's posts." The writing skills draft everything the calendar calls for, each one made for its own platform, all in your voice.

All 106, by job

Every name below is a skill you can call by name. "Use the carousel-writer skill to turn this into 8 slides" works exactly like you'd hope.

The manual paths

The prompt above only works where Claude can run commands on your computer. If you'd rather do it yourself, or you only use Claude in the browser, here's each way.

Claude Code, as a plugin (updates itself)

Type these two lines inside Claude Code. The plus: when the authors ship fixes, you get them automatically.

Claude Code
/plugin marketplace add social-media-skills/skills
/plugin install social-media-skills@social-media-skills

claude.ai in the browser or the Claude app (no terminal)

Works on every Claude plan, but you upload skills one at a time. The shortcut is a topic pack: one download with the ZIPs for a whole job. Start with the Social Media Starter Kit.

  1. Settings: turn on code execution (skills need it)
  2. Download a pack from the Releases page of the repo
  3. Customize → Skills → + Create skill → upload each ZIP in the pack, then toggle them on

The 6 things that trip people up

None of these throw an error. They just make the skills look broken when they're not.

  • It can't watch a video from a link
This is the big one for viral-reverse-engineering. Paste a TikTok link and Claude can't actually watch it. Give it the transcript, the caption, the visible numbers and the top comments. The skill is built to only work from what it can see, and it won't make up the rest.
  • One folder per brand
The skills save brand-profile.md and voice.md in whatever folder you're working in. Start Claude in a random folder and your brand files end up scattered, and the next session can't find them. Make one folder per brand and always open Claude there. Running 3 brands? 3 folders.
  • Name clashes with skills you already have
Some of these have common names: hook-writer, caption-writer, content-calendar. If you already built a skill with the same name, a manual copy will overwrite yours. The install prompt checks for this first and keeps yours by default.
  • Restart before you test
New skills only load when Claude Code starts. Install, then quit and reopen. Most "it didn't work" moments are just this.
  • With 106 skills, say which one you want
When a bunch of skills do similar jobs, Claude sometimes grabs the wrong one. Fix: name it. "Use the viral-reverse-engineering skill on this" beats "break this down."
  • Scheduling is the only part that costs money
105 of these are free and run inside Claude. The one that actually posts for you, scheduling-and-queue, connects through WoopSocial, and that needs a paid plan. Skip it and it still hands you a finished posting schedule. It never pretends it posted.

I didn't build these

Social Media Skills is by Frank Heijdenrijk and the team behind WoopSocial, given away free under the MIT license. Here's the repo. The only things here that are mine are the install prompt, the starter stacks and the list of things that trip people up.

If these save you real time, go star the repo. That's the whole payment they asked for.
