Free Guide — June 2026

Search All of
Social Media in 30 Seconds

One free skill researches any topic across Reddit, X, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Polymarket, and more, then hands you a summary grounded in what real people actually said the last 30 days. 36,000+ GitHub stars. Installs in 30 seconds. Here's the full setup and the prompts worth stealing.

Section 1

What last30days Actually Does

last30days is a free, open-source AI skill built by Marcus Van Horn. You give it any topic, it researches that topic across the entire internet, then hands you back a summary grounded in what real people have actually been saying the last 30 days.

Not editors. Not a press release. Real people, scored by real engagement: upvotes, likes, transcripts, prediction-market odds.

Here's why this matters: no single AI tool you already pay for can do this. ChatGPT can't read TikTok transcripts. Perplexity can't pull Polymarket odds. last30days stitches all of it into one answer, ranked by what's actually getting traction right now.

It searches all of these at once:

Reddit (upvoted comments + threads)

X / Twitter (tweets, threads, hot takes)

YouTube (full video transcripts)

TikTok (captions + engagement)

Instagram Reels (transcripts)

Hacker News (developer consensus)

Polymarket (odds backed by real money)

GitHub (repos, releases, activity)

Bluesky, Threads, Pinterest

Perplexity Sonar + the open web

Section 2

Why This Is Legit

1

36,000+ GitHub stars

One of the most popular AI skills on the planet, with 2,900+ forks and a new release every few weeks. People depend on it.

2

Ranked by real engagement, not SEO

Results are scored by upvotes, likes, transcripts, and prediction-market odds. You get the actual conversation, not whatever's optimized to rank on Google.

3

MIT licensed, runs locally, zero tracking

Open source and free. Your research stays on your machine.

Section 3

Install It (Pick Your Path)

You only need one of these. Pick the one that matches how you use Claude.

Path 1 — Claude Code (fastest, recommended)

Open Claude Code and paste this. It updates automatically.

Paste into Claude Code

/plugin marketplace add mvanhorn/last30days-skill

Path 2 — Claude Desktop or Cowork (claude.ai)

1

Download the skill file from github.com/mvanhorn/last30days-skill/releases/latest (the last30days.skill file).

2

In Claude, open Settings → Capabilities and turn on Code execution and file creation.

3

Still in Capabilities, find Skills, hit the + button, and upload the file you just downloaded. Done.

Path 3 — Any other agent (Codex, Cursor, Copilot, Gemini CLI)

The -g flag installs it globally so it's available everywhere.

Run in your terminal

npx skills add mvanhorn/last30days-skill -g

Section 4

It Works Immediately (Keys Optional)

Reddit, Hacker News, Polymarket, and GitHub all work the second you install it. No API keys, no config. You can start running searches right now.

If you want the full firepower (X, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram), add the optional keys below. Every one has a free tier. You don't need any of these to start. Add them only when you hit a wall on a platform you actually care about.

Section 5

The Prompts Worth Stealing

Every command is just /last30days followed by what you want to know. Swap the bracketed part for your own topic. Here are the ones worth keeping.

Meeting prep (this one alone is worth the install)

Returns their recent work, GitHub activity, and what people are saying. Walk into any call already knowing what they shipped this month.

/last30days [name of the person you're meeting]

Catch up on breaking news, the real version

Pulls live tweets, Reddit threads, YouTube reactions, and prediction-market odds. The public's actual read, not one outlet's spin.

/last30days [topic or person in the news]

Compare tools before you commit

Surfaces GitHub stars, architecture debates, and community comparisons side by side. Stop reading ten secretly-affiliate listicles.

/last30days [Tool A] vs [Tool B] vs [Tool C]

Learn anything fast

Compiles community-tested techniques and real working examples. How people are actually using it right now, not last year's tutorial.

/last30days [skill or technique you want to learn]

Plan a trip with current info

Wait times, closures, construction updates, recent visitor sentiment. The stuff review sites are always three months behind on.

/last30days [place or event you're going to]

Turn any search into a shareable brief

Generates a clean, dark-mode, print-friendly HTML report (saved to ~/Documents/Last30Days/). Send it to a client, a teammate, or your future self.

/last30days [topic], give me a shareable HTML brief

Section 6

Three Power Tips

1. Be specific with the topic.

"AI agents" gets you noise. "OpenClaw vs Hermes for non-coders" gets you signal. The narrower the query, the sharper the summary.

2. Use it before you create.

Before you write a post, record a video, or pitch an idea, run it on your topic and see what's actually resonating this week. Cheapest content research you'll ever do.

3. Chain it.

Run a broad search first, spot the thread worth pulling, then run a second narrow search on just that. Two minutes of searching beats an hour of scrolling.

Google shows you what's optimized for Google. last30days shows you what real people upvoted, transcribed, and bet money on in the last 30 days. One is SEO. The other is the actual conversation.

Install it once. Use it before every meeting, every piece of content, every decision where you wish you knew what people were really saying. It quietly becomes the first thing you reach for.

Go search something this week.
